Digital doesn't have to be difficult,
but it must be done correctly

“if you build it they will come” doesn’t apply in Digital Marketing

Digital marketing can feel like spinning plates  — you’re doing a bit of everything, but nothing seems to really move the needle. That’s usually because the core elements — your website, email, and Google strategy — aren’t working in sync. You can’t just build a website and hope it delivers for you – Field of Dreams doesn’t apply in Digital.

We don’t try to be all-things-to-all-people in the vast field of Digital Marketing. We stick to the three core areas, where we can deliver significant value to clients.

Building highly effective websites, delivering winning email campaigns and ensuring clients are Google Friendly are our of areas of expertise. Get these right and you will be well on your way to achieving success in the Digital arena.

We take pride in speaking to clients in business language and never in techno-jargon. Clients don’t care about and don’t need to even know about meta data and schemas, for example. They know about and care passionately about business growth, conversion rates and prospect acquisitions, so that’s the language we speak.

"Business First, Technology Second.
Clients at the Forefront.
That's the EHJ Digital way"

highly effective websites

Anyone can build you a website, right? Well, actually no. They might be able to get some content to be published but a highly effective website is much more than that.

To begin with it's your business shop front, your brand on display, so it needs to be technically well put together and needs to present your business in the very best light. Are you serious going to trust your business reputation?

It's a communications task, it's your New Business Mangers, it's the very first impression people will form of your business. It's something that you absolutely have to get right. No corners cut.

Is it expensive to get a highly effective, professional website built? It doesn't have to be expensive, but you do need to treat it as a serious business tool and allocate a budget to it.

It's an expensive thing to get wrong.
Some things are cheap or even free for a reason...

brand comes to life

Your website is where your brand comes to life. It needs to tell a story, lead visitors on a journey of discovery, and deliver on what it promises to do.

Does it comply with your business colours? Can visitors see at a glance that it's a key part of your business?

Is the messaging on-brand and in line with everything else you do?

first impression

Your website is more than just a brochure that can be seen online, it’s a conversion tool. It’s the first impression of your business, and should be a real conversion engine. It’s not about how it looks, but what it actually does. Is it clear what you offer? Can visitors take action easily?

It needs to have a clear value proposition. The user journey needs to be straight forward. Make sure it has a clear call to action and is accessible.

new business manager

Your website is an always-on, always-open New Business Manger. It takes care of introducing new prospects, answering their questions, provides detailed insight to clients.

It can often secure business for you, all the way from initial enquiry, through information provision, to order placement - and sometimes even order fulfillment.

But like any New Business Manger, it's performance needs to be assessed and corrective action taken if necessary.

don't forget technology

Technology is still important. You need to ensure your website is technically sound, loads quickly and has no broken or missing links. Make sure you are safe from cyber attacks. Be mindful of technology but don't be ruled by it.

Is it fast and mobile optimised? If your homepage or landing page, depending win what you drive traffic to, doesn’t answer the key questions of who you help, what you do, and what to do next in 5 seconds, it’s time for a re-think.

The most cost effective client acquisition tool when used correctly

delivering winning email campaigns

How many emails do you get in a week? How many do you open? How many do you read? How many are relevant, timely and credible?

Every single email that you send should meet the relevant, timely and credible test, and if they don't then don't send it. Simple.

Our winning email campaigns use a combination of management consulting led approach, design flair, technology savvy, and data acquisition to help yogurt it right every time, and total advantage of the best dollar for dollar ROI in written communication.

If you’re going to use personalisation then make sure you get and spell people’s names correctly, it’s the first thing they will look for and seeing errors will just lead them to ignore your message. Make sure you adhere to DMA (Direct Marketing Association) rules and guidelines in the UK, or the relevant authority in your territory. The rule of thumb is if in doubt don’t send it.

While good email communication is highly effective, you will know the challenges associated with cutting through the piles of junk mail that arrive every week. Don't add to the junk, rise above it and reap the rewards that are there to be had.

Ensuring clients are google friendly

You are sure to hear a lot about ideal client avatars and the like. "Get that right and you will succeed" is the often heard maxim.

We don't subscribe to that view. Your most important audience, and it can be argued, your only key audience is Google. Because if Google doesn't see, like, rate and rank your website, then you can have as many avatars as you like but no one will ever see your website.

Coming from a management consulting background we understand communications and technology. In that order of importance.

You will also see content from people telling you they can get you on the first page of Google. Ignore that at all costs. No one can promise and deliver that. And don't ever try and cheat Google or use black hat techniques for attempting to get Google to rank you better - it will all end in tears. Guaranteed.

Making you Google Friendly is our way of ensuring that you treat Google with the respect deserved, follow the rules and stack the odds in your favour. Because if Google likes you then the battle is half way won.

Google is your most important audience

our approach makes us different

We’re not going to assume that a new website is always the answer, or always the best solution.

We’ll discuss your business goals and needs, and areas where between us we believe that Digital can be of benefit.

The goal is always helping you to win more customers, more revenue and more profit, because clients don’t want a website for its own sake, they want it to help drive their business forward.

All of our project discussions begin with a series of “why”, and “what?” questions.

That way we can determine the best approach to your Digital business needs.

Every project begins with a detailed briefing meeting and this is perhaps the single most important stage in developing solutions for you.

Our project management system helps to keep the project on track and ensures that everyone knows what’s expected and when.

No surprises.
